Amanda & Luis // Temecula, CA

We arrived at the Hampton Inn in Temecula early Sunday morning to find a room full of girls watching old black-and-white “I Love Lucy” episodes….on DVD. Awesome. So, naturally, we just hung out for a while and enjoyed the nice, relaxed atmosphere. Once hair and makeup got going, then it was back to work :)

One of our favorite moments of the day was when Amanda sent a gift over to Luis with a special, heartfelt note. You could just feel her love for him as she read the note out loud and couldn’t make it through without tearing up. Then Luis’ smile as he read the note was just icing on the cake.

The first look took place at the ceremony venue, Falker Winery, amongst a gorgeous field of lush grapevines. Not long after, the ceremony was in full swing and then it was off to the winery’s restaurant for the reception. The restaurant had a breathtaking view of the entire vineyard set against a perfect sunset. In fact, while the guests ate dinner inside, the FortyOneTwenty team enjoyed dinner by candlelight outside on the balcony. Very romantic…we know!

The reception was packed full of Latin flavor and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Thank you Amanda & Luis for inviting us to be a part of such an amazing day. Congratulations again and we wish you both the very best in your new life together!

Nina & Jonathan // San Diego, CA

Nina & Jonathan were one of the first couples to book their wedding with us back when we were just getting started in the wedding industry. After we met them at a local bridal show, we just knew that this would be a great wedding.

The day started at the Mission Valley Hilton with Nina and her girls getting their hair and makeup done. When everyone was finally ready to go, we all packed up and headed north to a Catholic church in Mira Mesa for the ceremony. Jonathan and Nina chose to forgo the pre-ceremony first look for the more traditional first look down the aisle.

After a beautiful ceremony and a round of pictures, everyone headed backed down to the Hilton for an awesome reception.  Once seated at their sweetheart table, Nina & Jonathan relaxed and enjoyed some planned (and unplanned) performances from friends and family. Mix in some delicious food, a variety of sweets, a ridiculously cool photo booth, a great group of guests and it all comes together for an unforgettable celebration.

Congratulations Nina & Jonathan! We wish you both the very best!

Katy & Drew // San Diego, CA

It’s not everyday we get to shoot a wedding on an aircraft carrier! So, when Katy told us their ceremony was on the flight deck of the USS Midway, we definitely had to film it.

The day started bright and early at the pet-friendly Hotel Solamar in downtown San Diego. While Katy was having her hair and makeup done,  Drew was out walking the dogs around Petco stadium. Eventually, we were joined by one of our favorite photography teams from Shawn K Photography, including the talented Shawn Kennedy, Kent Messini, and Even Yamada.

After the first look right outside the hotel, we headed down Harbor Drive via a big yellow school bus to the USS Midway for some pics. Soon after we were all up on the flight deck for the ceremony…alongside some pretty cool planes and helicopters. Every direction you looked there was an amazing view. The downtown  skyline. The Coronado bridge. The bay. All around spectacular vistas.

Then we all headed inside the ship for the reception in the hangar bay. You’ll notice in the video that Drew’s commanding officer surprised him by presenting his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corp Reserve. Marriage and a promotion all in one day…awesome.

Needless to say, this was a wedding to remember. Congratulations to Drew & Katy!

Grace & Justin // San Francisco, CA

We jumped at the chance to shoot this wedding for two reasons. First, it’s in San Francisco, which is pretty awesome in itself. Second, we’ve known Grace for the better part of  7 years and wouldn’t have missed her wedding for the world. It was just an added bonus that we got to shoot the wedding rather than just attend! Plus, it’s always fun to shoot amongst friends and family.

We hope you enjoy watching this film as much as we enjoyed shooting it. Congrats Justin and Grace, we love you guys!

Jordan & Aubrey // Laguna Beach, CA

Every once in a while, we get a couple with personalities that just shine through every detail of the wedding and brighten up an already joyful day. That was Jordan and Aubrey. There were so many moments that made us smile and laugh throughout the editing that we had a hard time choosing what to include. I think we all agree though that our favorite moment was the first look. Hearing Jordan as he rounded that corner and saw Aubrey for the first time was classic! His enthusiasm for everything about Aubrey, even the shoes she was wearing, was infectious and we just couldn’t get enough of it.

Alright, enough from me about the wedding. Go watch the video which speaks volumes more than I could ever tell you in this blog post. Then, leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Gene & Carol // Carlsbad, CA

We had the privilege of filming Gene & Carol’s wedding recently at the Park Hyatt in Carlsbad. We started off in their beautifully spacious wedding suite where Carol and her ladies had their hair and makeup done. Then, it was on to a cozy little nook overlooking the resort’s 18th green for the ceremony. We actually setup a crane in the middle of a sand hazard behind the green! Dodging a few golf balls was a small price to pay for that awesome shot! Raking the sand afterward wasn’t as fun though :) The 18th hole was also where we filmed the ring shot in the intro. I think that actually might be one of my favorite ring shots….

Overall, it was a beautiful wedding and we can’t say enough great things about Gene & Carol. Congratulations to you both again!!
