It seems we’re traveling outside of San Diego more and more these days for weddings. So, we’re always excited when we get a wedding in our home city of San Diego, especially when it’s at a historic venue like the US Grant Hotel downtown. San Diego also offers some other nice perks for the wedding day like an awesome selection of surf spots and generally impeccable weather. Matt and his groomsmen took full advantage of this and started the day with a relaxing surf session while Megan began getting ready at a local salon.

After the party was all suited up, we headed outside for a beautiful first look moment in front of the US Grant. You can’t help but smile seeing their faces as they glimpse each other for the first time that day. Not long after, we were back inside the hotel for an intimate ceremony against a candlelit fireplace. You can be the judge but I swear Matt was starting tear up as Megan walked down the aisle. I think my favorite part though was the personal vows that they had each written specially for that moment.

The reception hall continued in the intimate yet classy style of the ceremony, with candles placed throughout the room. From the fun cake toppers to the beautiful first dance, the atmosphere and the night in general were just perfect.

Congratulations Megan and Matt! We wish you both the very best!

From the rose covered aisle to the open air reception, Michelle & Jeff’s classic wedding at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach was an event to remember. It definitely helps when you have an all-star vendor team including Jessica Claire behind the lens, Jeannie Savage running the show, and Nisie on florals. We had an absolute blast working alongside this team to make Michelle & Jeff’s big day as stunning and memorable as possible. Thank you, Michelle & Jeff, for bringing us on board. Congratulations and we wish you both the very best in your new life together!!

We began the day with traditional Chinese tea ceremonies at the homes of both sets or parents. When the groomsmen arrived at the first location, the bride’s parent’s home, they were greeted outside by all the bridesmaids. Per tradition, the groomsmen (including the groom) were directed through a series of “games” to gain access to the bride. This hilariously involved everything from the guys performing a little song and dance for the girls to the guys dressing up as girls and using wax strips on their legs! Those are some serious hoops to jump through! In the end though, I think Nelson would agree it was all worth it when he finally laid eyes on Beverly for the first time that day.

After the tea ceremonies, both parties headed over to the Ritz Carlton to finish getting ready, perform the first look and get into all the pre-ceremony pictures. The ceremony itself was absolutely gorgeous, with the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop. Then everyone headed inside for the cocktail hour and reception. Overall, the whole day went off without a hitch and will doubtless be remembered by everyone who attended! However, if anyone did forget, they will have this beautiful film to refresh their memories

Congratulations Beverly & Nelson!!

We’ve never filmed at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu before, and let me just say, we’ve been missing out. Cecilia & Colin could not have picked a venue that fit them more perfectly. The huge oak tree with dozens of lights strung throughout, draping down over the ceremony. So perfect. A beautiful backdrop to a beautiful wedding.

Held in the backyard of a private residence, this wedding was truly beautiful and unique. This didn’t just happen on its own though. The bride and groom poured their blood, sweat and tears into creating this perfect setting. Okay, I don’t know if there was any blood or tears involved but certainly some sweat. Tony and his guys labored for weeks transforming the backyard into the romantic alcove shown in this film. Not to be outdone, Chandra (a wedding florist herself) created all the floral arrangements, from the ceremony arch to the bridal bouquets.

Chandra & Tony, you two put together a stunning wedding! Congratulations and we wish you both the very best!

We can’t think of a better way to start your wedding day than a nice, relaxing bike ride with your groomsmen…and a camera crew. Phong seemed to like it and we had a ton of fun shooting it. In fact, both An and Phong had a thing for bikes as they were a consistent theme throughout the day. From Phong’s bike-decorated socks to the bicycle cake toppers, this theme was cleverly woven throughout the wedding. Overall, the couple’s lively personality permeated this wedding, especially as they danced their way into the reception. The tower of cupcakes, pinwheels and little toy bikes were definitely a new spin to a traditional theme all of which we thoroughly enjoyed!

There’s just something magical about having your wedding on an island farm overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. At least that was our feeling as we travelled aboard the Woods Hole ferry with Martha’s Vineyard on the horizon. We arrived late Friday night, exhausted, after nearly 12 hours of traveling. Thankfully, we had all of Saturday to relax and explore the island. Needless to say, this included New England Clam Chowder, fish and chips and some Boston lager, among other things. At one point, we found ourselves on the deck of the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown. We just sat there, in our rocking chairs watching the boats in the harbor for what must have been an hour. Perfection.

On Sunday, we drove across the island to the Allen Farm where we were greeted by sheep, horses, goats and a breathtaking view across the farm to the water. The ceremony was situated at the far side of a large field with the ocean as its back. When the ceremony was concluded, the wedding party led the guests in a traditional New Orleans “second line” with a 3-piece band towards the reception tent. Very unique and fun.

Since this was our very first Jewish wedding, we were very excited to film the Hora where the bride, groom and honored guests are hoisted over the dance the floor on chairs. All in all, it was an amazing wedding and weekend on the island.

Congratulations Annie & Peter!

Some weddings are just awesome. Plain and simple. Sylvia and David’s big day was exactly that. From Hotel Indigo to Balboa Park to the Ultimate Skybox, the locations were perfect with stunning vistas. Right after the ceremony, the couple provided delicious Italian gelato via a sidewalk-style push cart. Big points there. At the reception, which looks down upon Petco Park and downtown San Diego, they served heavy hor d’oeuvres in lieu of a sit down dinner. We’re big fans of that. If you can’t tell already, food is quick way to our hearts

We hope you all enjoy watching their wedding as much as we did filming it. Congratulations Sylvia & David on a beautiful wedding and new life together.

We began the day with Meghan & Andrew, each getting ready in their respective suites at the elegant St. Regis Resort at Monarch Beach. Once the two of them were prepped, the party moved over to St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel for the ceremony. With the ceremony concluded and Meghan & Andrew officially wedded, we all headed back to the St. Regis for cocktails and appetizers. During this hour, the guests were treated to an awesome performance by a pair of very talented Indian dancers, the Belly Twins. All this overlooked the Grand Lawn where the reception would be taking place. We were particularly excited about this because we’ve never shot a reception on the Grand Lawn and this one was absolutely stunning (courtesy of the talented ladies at Details Details)!

I think the highlight of the evening though was the surprise performance of The Spazmatics, “the ultimate new wave 80′s show.” Musically, these guys are crazy talented. Entertainment-wise, they are AMAZING. They’ve now moved to the top of our list for wedding bands! Good choice Meghan

Congratulations Meghan & Andrew! We wish you both the very best!

Not only did we just hear an outpouring of love and support from their friends, but Lilian & John simply radiate these qualities to those around them. Combine their presence with a beautiful setting like the St. Regis and its impossible not to create a wedding to remember.

Congratulations Lilian & John! We wish you a beautiful life together!
