Megan & Matt // San Diego, CA

It seems we’re traveling outside of San Diego more and more these days for weddings. So, we’re always excited when we get a wedding in our home city of San Diego, especially when it’s at a historic venue like the US Grant Hotel downtown. San Diego also offers some other nice perks for the wedding day like an awesome selection of surf spots and generally impeccable weather. Matt and his groomsmen took full advantage of this and started the day with a relaxing surf session while Megan began getting ready at a local salon.

After the party was all suited up, we headed outside for a beautiful first look moment in front of the US Grant. You can’t help but smile seeing their faces as they glimpse each other for the first time that day. Not long after, we were back inside the hotel for an intimate ceremony against a candlelit fireplace. You can be the judge but I swear Matt was starting tear up as Megan walked down the aisle. I think my favorite part though was the personal vows that they had each written specially for that moment.

The reception hall continued in the intimate yet classy style of the ceremony, with candles placed throughout the room.  From the fun cake toppers to the beautiful first dance, the atmosphere and the night in general were just perfect.

Congratulations Megan and Matt! We wish you both the very best!

Sylvia & David // San Diego, CA

Some weddings are just awesome. Plain and simple. Sylvia and David’s big day was exactly that. From Hotel Indigo to Balboa Park to the Ultimate Skybox, the locations were perfect with stunning vistas. Right after the ceremony, the couple provided delicious Italian gelato via a sidewalk-style push cart. Big points there. At the reception, which looks down upon Petco Park and downtown San Diego, they served heavy hor d’oeuvres in lieu of a sit down dinner. We’re big fans of that. If you can’t tell already, food is quick way to our hearts :)

We hope you all enjoy watching their wedding as much as we did filming it. Congratulations Sylvia & David on a beautiful wedding and new life together.

Kristina & Huy // San Diego, CA

We had the privilege recently of filming the wedding of Kristina & Huy here in our own backyard of San Diego. We kicked off the day with a fun biking session with Huy and his guys while the girls did hair and make-up. After that we all cruised over to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Rancho Bernardo for  a beautiful ceremony.  With the bride and groom officially wed, it was then time to celebrate down in Pt. Loma at the Admiral Kidd Club overlooking the bay. As you’ll see in the film, Kristina & Huy are brimming with personality and it all came together for one awesome party.

Congratulations Kristina & Huy!

Catherine & Wilbur // San Diego, CA

When we first walked into the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown San Diego, we could just tell this was going to be an awesome day. Walking out the door was a reality film crew following a pro-skater while inside the lobby was a packed crowd of ladies attending a scrap booking conference. The energy was electric :)

We headed upstairs to Catherine’s room and were surprised with a fantastic view looking west over the Gaslamp district, the convention center, and the rest of downtown. While peering out the window, we noticed an amazing wrap-around balcony to our right and knew we had to have the first look there. So, we left Catherine’s room in search of the room that with the balcony. Turns out the room was newly occupied by a bunch of guys that graciously gave us the thumbs up to take over their room for our first look shoot. Once Catherine and Wilbur were ready to go, we sent Wilbur out to wait on the balcony. When Catherine tapped on his shoulder and he set eyes on her for the first time in her wedding dress, he just couldn’t help letting a few tears escape. The moment was simply perfect.

After a quick photo session, the party headed down to the pool deck for a beautiful, classic ceremony officiated by a good friend of theirs. A few more pics and everyone funneled downstairs for the cocktail hour and reception. From heartfelt speeches to a performance by a traditional Filipino dance troupe, the reception was truly enjoyable. In fact, both Catherine and Wilbur both used to be a part of that dance troupe and jumped in at several points to show off their skills. Then, Wilbur surprised everyone with an acoustic performance of the Plain White T’s Rhythm of Love for Catherine. Such a perfect night.

Congratulations, Catherine and Wilbur!! We were so privileged to have shared in such a beautiful day with the two of you.

Katy & Drew // San Diego, CA

It’s not everyday we get to shoot a wedding on an aircraft carrier! So, when Katy told us their ceremony was on the flight deck of the USS Midway, we definitely had to film it.

The day started bright and early at the pet-friendly Hotel Solamar in downtown San Diego. While Katy was having her hair and makeup done,  Drew was out walking the dogs around Petco stadium. Eventually, we were joined by one of our favorite photography teams from Shawn K Photography, including the talented Shawn Kennedy, Kent Messini, and Even Yamada.

After the first look right outside the hotel, we headed down Harbor Drive via a big yellow school bus to the USS Midway for some pics. Soon after we were all up on the flight deck for the ceremony…alongside some pretty cool planes and helicopters. Every direction you looked there was an amazing view. The downtown  skyline. The Coronado bridge. The bay. All around spectacular vistas.

Then we all headed inside the ship for the reception in the hangar bay. You’ll notice in the video that Drew’s commanding officer surprised him by presenting his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corp Reserve. Marriage and a promotion all in one day…awesome.

Needless to say, this was a wedding to remember. Congratulations to Drew & Katy!

We Heart San Diego!

This is a shoot we did for a bridal show here in town. It highlights some of the beautiful areas of San Diego. Really fun to go around and just film the city you live in. Hope you like it!

Chris & Christina // San Diego, CA

We just recently had the pleasure of shooting Chris and Christina’s wedding this past weekend. It started off a little rainy when we were heading downtown to begin shooting Christina and her bridesmaids getting ready…we actually almost got into an accident because it was raining so hard! The location for that part of the day was beautiful, we were in a high rise overlooking San Diego. From there we went to North Chapel at Liberty Station in Point Loma to film the ceremony. After that, we headed over to the reception, held at the Admiral Kid Club. This location also overlooked downtown San Diego. Really cool spot to celebrate with the newly weds.

So, congratulations Chris and Christina! We had a blast shooting your wedding, thanks so much for trusting us with your special day.

Bridal Bazaar

If you are planning on getting married and will be attending the Bridal Bizaar at the San Diego Convention Center…stop by and see us! All 3 of us will be there with our cool booth setup (kind of cool). We plan to have materials to hand out and a TV with our highlight films looping. Also, because everything is so loud in the convention center we will also have a listening booth set up for you to put headphones on. This way people can watch a video and actually hear the music and speaking. Hopefully and a good experience for those that haven’t seen our stuff before. Hope there’s a good turn out!

Stephen & Caroline // San Diego, CA

We had a blast filming this wedding! Stephen and Caroline are both great people to be around, and it made for a very enjoyable shoot. We were hoping and praying all week long that it wouldn’t rain on their wedding day….but it just wasn’t to be (I’m not sure how that’s possible seeing as it hardly ever rains in San Diego). Caroline had to make the incredibly hard decision to move the wedding indoors, but what a great decision it was. It was pouring down when it came time for the ceremony, and having the wedding inside the Hyatt ballroom was beautiful! The reception was shot at the Bayview room at Marina Village. Their theme for the wedding was snow and sand, so you can see that in a lot of the reception shots. They even had kids throw fake snow down on them during their first dance! Now that’s commitment to your theme.

Congratulations Stephen and Caroline!

Josh & Alyssa // San Diego, CA

We had the privilege of shooting Josh and Alyssa’s wedding this past weekend in our very own San Diego, CA. The ceremony began at 11:30am, so we woke up REALLY early on Saturday morning to make sure we would get all the getting ready shots we needed. From there we hopped in a limo and arrived at the ceremony location (the very beautiful USD Founders Chapel). This was our first shoot in this location, and I think it really came out nice! Afterwords we all headed to Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island for a sunny mid-afternoon reception.

All -in-all, it was a good day. The footage turned out nice, and I think we were successful in capturing the full story of Josh and Alyssa’s wedding day. Congratulations to you both!
