Nina & Jonathan were one of the first couples to book their wedding with us back when we were just getting started in the wedding industry. After we met them at a local bridal show, we just knew that this would be a great wedding.

The day started at the Mission Valley Hilton with Nina and her girls getting their hair and makeup done. When everyone was finally ready to go, we all packed up and headed north to a Catholic church in Mira Mesa for the ceremony. Jonathan and Nina chose to forgo the pre-ceremony first look for the more traditional first look down the aisle.

After a beautiful ceremony and a round of pictures, everyone headed backed down to the Hilton for an awesome reception.  Once seated at their sweetheart table, Nina & Jonathan relaxed and enjoyed some planned (and unplanned) performances from friends and family. Mix in some delicious food, a variety of sweets, a ridiculously cool photo booth, a great group of guests and it all comes together for an unforgettable celebration.

Colin and Aimee are great friends of ours, it was so much fun to film their special day! They got married at this crazy cool ranch in Fallbrook. Everywhere you looked there was something begging to be filmed…pretty cool. We were also very blessed to work with some incredible local vendors. Their photog was Colleen Sherman, check out her blog for more beautiful pics from the wedding. Carter & Cook coordinated the event, and they really did an amazing job! All the decor was so rustic and vintage…perfect for the location.

Drew and An were a very fun and unique couple, we had a blast shooting their wedding. It turned out to be a beautiful day, and it just made the whole video look bright and colorful. An got ready at the Grande Colonial in downtown La Jolla, while Drew and his guys got ready at his parents house. The ceremony was held in Scripps Park, and the reception was at the super modern and cool Georges by the Cove.

We just recently had the pleasure of shooting Chris and Christina’s wedding this past weekend. It started off a little rainy when we were heading downtown to begin shooting Christina and her bridesmaids getting ready…we actually almost got into an accident because it was raining so hard! The location for that part of the day was beautiful, we were in a high rise overlooking San Diego. From there we went to North Chapel at Liberty Station in Point Loma to film the ceremony. After that, we headed over to the reception, held at the Admiral Kid Club. This location also overlooked downtown San Diego. Really cool spot to celebrate with the newly weds.

So, congratulations Chris and Christina! We had a blast shooting your wedding, thanks so much for trusting us with your special day.

We had a great time shooting Shane and Sabrina’s wedding this past weekend. The whole day really went smoothly, and the wedding was beautiful! I’m a fan of the ceremony not dragging out too long…this one was over in a about 10 minutes. Incredible!

We shot at the Loews Hotel Resort on the Strand and Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley for the getting ready parts. The ceremony and reception were both at Breakers Beach on the Coronado Naval Base. It was really a cool experience shooting on the base. The landing strip was really close, luckily we didn’t have too many helicopters or planes landing during the ceremony.

Special thanks to our good friend Megan of Megan Ann Photography, she was great to work with. Also wanted to thank Erin Melton from Behind The Bride for coordinating a great wedding.

Congratulations Shane and Sabrina!

We had the privilege of shooting Josh and Alyssa’s wedding this past weekend in our very own San Diego, CA. The ceremony began at 11:30am, so we woke up REALLY early on Saturday morning to make sure we would get all the getting ready shots we needed. From there we hopped in a limo and arrived at the ceremony location (the very beautiful USD Founders Chapel). This was our first shoot in this location, and I think it really came out nice! Afterwords we all headed to Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island for a sunny mid-afternoon reception.

All -in-all, it was a good day. The footage turned out nice, and I think we were successful in capturing the full story of Josh and Alyssa’s wedding day. Congratulations to you both!

This past Saturday we shot another wedding in beautiful Laguna Beach, California. The wedding was amazing, and we were very blessed to work with the Youngrens (an amazing photography duo). Blair and Erin were both great to shoot, and the wedding was very gorgeous. You could point the camera almost anywhere and find an amazing shot just waiting for you. Very cool. Well, that was interesting. We’ve had several days to digest the wedding, and looking at the footage I think we did a pretty good job. There are definitely some kinks we will have to work out for the next shoot (Oct. 24th), but overall we captured some beautiful video. It was crazy having the pressure of worrying about all the important shots (bride and groom getting ready, first seeing each other, ceremony shots, first dance). I think we handled it well, especially seeing as we had brand new equipment we were shooting with.

The cameras held up really nice. We didn’t have any problems with over-heating, and thankfully had plenty of Compact Flash cards for both cameras. We did find that shooting on zoom lenses without some sort of stabilizer creates strange jello effects to the image, but that’s something we can easily change for the next shoot.

Wedding? Yup, you heard me right. FortyOneTwenty is now shooting wedding videos. This was our first crack at it. It was a real challenge working with our new Canon 7D cameras…lots of kinks we still need to work out, but I’m really happy with the result.
